Nashua all stars got their first win of the all star season vs Swanzey Saturday. Nashua was slow to get their offense kindled. Their first hit came in the top of the 3rd with a Drew Goulet single that plated Josh Caruso, who got on by walk. On the defensive side, Mason Tanner let up 1 run on 2 hits through 4 innings. Gus Smiley roped a double down the left field line that put Luke Peters over to 3rd. Peters would eventually score on a missed fly ball. Jayce Martinez pitched the last 2 innings and gave up 1 run on 1 hit, he struck out 4.
June 17th Swanzey, NH
Nashua 6 Bow 5
Bow threatened in the top of the 1st inning after a lead off double and a walk putting runners at second and third after a ground ball to the pitcher advanced the runners. Mason Tanner responded by striking out Bow’s 4 & 5 batters, leaving both runners stranded. Nashua came out swinging in the bottom of the first. Drew Goulet singled and stole second. Mason Tanner walked. Adam Murray hit a gap single and got both runners home. Bow was able to score one run on two hits in the second. Nashua’s bats went cold again until the 4th inning. Kosay Tanaka singled, driving in Tanner for Nashua’s 3rd run of the game. Bow would take the lead in the 4th, scoring 3 runs and going ahead 4-3. Bow would add one more in the top of the 6th on a couple of hits. Nashua came up in the bottom of the sixth trailing by 2 runs. Mason Tanner stoked the offense with a hard hit double down the left field line. Tanner scores on another single by Adam Murray. Josh Caruso reaches base on a dropped 3rd strike. Logen Fier stung a single into left center plating Murray. Kosay Tanaka got Caruso home with a laser single between the first and second basemen for the walk-off victory. Nashua defeated Bow 6-5. Nashua will play on Wednesday, June 19th against Keene in the winner’s bracket final.
